Committed to Serving Mothers with Ongoing Support and Housing, Meet MaggiesPlace.orgMaggie’s Place welcomes pregnant and parenting women and their children into a safe and loving community, providing life-changing programs and ongoing services to help them become self-sufficient.Upon leaving Maggie’s Place, women and their children are provided with ongoing support, including parenting education, child development and enrichment programs, employment assistance, social events and programs for improving family relations.Maggie’s Place has four maternity homes and two apartment complexes located in Phoenix, Glendale, Tempe and Mesa. Maggie’s Thrift is located in Phoenix, AZ and all funds raised goes directly to programming for Maggie’s Place moms, babies and families.The Maggie’s Place Family Success Center (FSC) serves as the home base for Maggie’s Place moms, children and families. Through support services, donation distribution and social connections, both moms currently living in a home and those who have transitioned out (and their babies and families) participate in a variety of events, activities and programs on site.To learn more, visit https://www.maggiesplace.org.—Laura joined Maggie’s Place as the CEO in September 2013. She holds a Master of Education in Counseling and has over thirty years of experience in the private, government, and nonprofit sectors. Her primary focus has always involved issues concerning children, youth and families, education, and advocacy.Laura believes deeply in breaking the cycle of abuse, poverty, violence, and trauma to free women and children to live their best lives. She has lobbied for health and education legislation, advocated for youth, volunteered for the Foster Care Review Board at the state and county levels, and served on the Arizona Life Coalition. She currently serves on the Maricopa Regional Continuum of Care Committee and the Arizona Adverse Childhood Experiences Consortium Board. Laura was recently appointed to the Adoption Promotion Task Force and was named as a Piper Fellow in November of 2021.Family Success Center & Thrift store located in Phoenix.
