After a chat with Mrs. GamerDude this week, GamerDude decided to devote this episode to talking about situational depression and anxiety, and to sharing some thoughts on how to deal with it. “Situational” depression is different from clinical depression and can be brought on by a specific set of circumstances – like dealing with Covid and its ramifications for over two years. He talks about how daily life during the Covid pandemic has created a “new normal,” which brings with it many opportunities to be both depressed and anxious. He talks about the uncertainty in the world, and the differing attitudes of individual people, and the companies we work for, and our government, and how those attitudes can be so frustrating and depressing. He also talks about how the fact that this “new normal” has changed the way we shop, and eat out, and travel, and work, can also be very depressing and frustrating. GamerDude also talks about how important it is to be willing to share the feelings of depression, and frustation, and anxiety. He discusses how comforting it can be to realize that you are not alone in your feelings, and how helpful it can be to know that others share the same feeling you have, and that those feelings are perfectly normal. He also discusses some tips he’s used to help deal with depression, and frustration, and anxiety. He talks about how his Twitch stream has been a welcome outlet, and discusses how any hobby – from fishing to golf to hooking rugs – can be a welcome respite from the daily challenges we all face that can lead to the feelings of depression and anxiety that so many of us are sharing these days.

I’m in a lot of physical and emotional pain. Thank you to my friends and family for the prayers and help you have offered me and given to me. I’m stuck. I’m hurting. I miss my Dad who died in 2009 while I was in jail for two weeks.I miss my Mom who died in 2011, murdered by a Hospice nurse while outside of my care for five days. I miss my Grandma who died on Thanksgiving Day in 2016. I miss Titan, my 17 year old cat who died in March.I miss my friend Cliff, who I had business ventures together with. I miss my friend Larry who I coached baseball with and against for 13 yrs. I was President of the League. He was Vice President. We were very close friends. Both Cliff and Larry helped my family and were significant parts of my life. Both have died.I had a felony on my record for 13 years. It just got expunged this year.The criminal record caused me to become homeless. Losing our family home and about 12 cats that were living there at the time. I am dependent on the Government for housing, food, medicine and electricity. I suffer from depression, anxiety, grief, anger and so many other things I sabotage relationships. I don’t know if that is because of fear that they will abandon me or die, or other factors. I have so many big goals. Most people wouldn’t understand them or would find them delusional. They are not delusional. They are within my capabilities to achieve them. I have achieved many things that people would never have imagined possible for me. The women I have slept with, the businesses I have started and ran… relationships I have been involved in… I have done some incredible things in my life. Most all of my successes have ended in failure. The wins became losses. I have a goal of being a multibillionaire. Because my dream job is to own and be GM of a Major League Baseball franchise and/or a National Football League franchise (or true competitor to it). That will take probably $2 Billion – $4 Billion to achieve. There are just over 3,000 Billionaires in the world, if I remember right. It is difficult to achieve. It is not impossible. I have a strategy to pull it off. I have a lot of businesses I desire to own and operate. A unique sports bar concept, that would be chain and I believe could be worth Billions itself. Get it up and going, sell it and I am there. To get the $15 Million to start the sports bar they way I want to, I have other business ideas. I want to have a Resale store chain that would be competitive to Goodwill and similar stores. I used to sell at Flea Markets. I like buying and selling. I want to start an unbiased National News media company. I have a concept for this that I believe would be very successful. I want to open a “Ring time gym”… with Boxing, Wrestling and MMA rings… plus a weight room. Have that in multiple markets and get back to promoting Pro Wrestling (possibly Boxing or MMA instead/as well)… I was a licensed wrestling promoter in 2005 and ran one event that year. A huge accomplishment, again ending in some heartache. I want to get back to coaching baseball and possibly coaching football. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken a path to make a living coaching football at a College level. I believe I would be very successful at that. I am a strategic genius. I would like to have youth recreation centers throughout America and sports leagues related to that.I want to start Nonprofits. One in honor of my Mom and Dad to help people who have cats. People that need help with cat food, shots and end of life expenses. Cremation costs, etc. I also want to start a nonprofit to help homeless people in Portland. To achieve these goals, I have to have other people on the board of these organizations. It takes help. I used to be able to rally support, now I struggle to get much help at all.I ran for Portland City Council in 2022. I got over 1,200 votes. Came in 7th out of 11 candidates. Ran on about $200 against three candidates with over $200,000 to work with on their campaign. I am very happy with my results. I am running for Mayor of Portland in 2024. I need help to have a chance to win. I call my supporters my “Upset Crew”. People who are upset with the way things are going in Portland, Oregon and want to see me pull a major upset on Election night 2024. I need help in so many ways. I wish I had somewhere to swim when I want. I wish I could go somewhere to see the ocean or a lake for a vacation. Had someone I could stay with for a few days that way. Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging dialogue about mental health, and to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy.Actress & activist Glenn Close co-founded Bring Change to Mind in 2010 after her sister, Jessie Close, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and her nephew, Calen Pick, with schizoaffective disorder.Every individual who speaks out inspires another. And another. That’s how we’ll end the stigma around mental illness.
