Billion dollars could be spent during April 8 eclipse, experts say [Video]

The tourism industry is expected to see one of, if not the biggest economic events of the year during the April 8th eclipse. Experts say more than a billion dollars to will likely be spent on hotels, travel and dining in cities along the eclipse path. This includes major cities like Austin and Dallas, but also in smaller towns throughout the Texas Hill Country and the Midwest.

Children cannot learn when they are hungry. At the end of the past school year, the National School Lunch Program ended in public and charter schools. For the past two years, all children, regardless of income or proof of need, were able to get at least one free meal at school. Even during lockdowns schools provided times for students to pick up a bagged lunch. For some students, this was the one meal they could count on.
